Hidden prompt
This is sent to the AI at the start of every chat, for every visitor. Visitors never see it, only the replies. Changes apply from the next message anyone sends.
Paid access
When this is on, anybody gets 3 free messages. After that they sign in with Google or Discord and pay $5.00 once through PayPal (the money goes to the PayPal account you connected), or they use a code from the next box. Turn it off and the site is free for everybody again.
Setup checklist
Set these in Cloudflare: your project → Settings → Variables and Secrets (type Secret), then upload the site again. Optional: PRICE_USD (default 5.00) and TRIAL_MESSAGES (default 3).
Is it working?
Rough numbers for the last 30 days. They are counted in the background and saved every few minutes, so the newest visits can be missing for a little while. Buyers and money come from the real list of people.
Sales pitch
This is what people read in the unlock window when their free messages run out. Leave a box empty to use the built-in text. Only say things that are true.
French version (optional: if empty, French visitors see the built-in French text)
Payment requests
People who paid through your PayPal.Me link and pressed "I've paid" wait here. Look in your PayPal for a payment of $5.00 from the same name or email, then press Approve and they are unlocked at once. Press Reject if you can't find the payment.
Automatic payment check
A personal PayPal account can't tell a website who paid. But PayPal e-mails you about every payment, so a small script in your Gmail can pass those e-mails to this site. Each buyer then pays an exact amount that belongs to them alone: the price, or a few cents more when several people are about to pay at the same time (for example $5.00, $5.01, $5.02). The e-mail for exactly that amount unlocks exactly that person, usually within a couple of minutes. Anything that isn't recognised still works the old way: the person presses "I've paid" and you approve them above. While this is off, nothing changes for your buyers.
- Press Show the script and copy it.
- Open script.google.com while signed in to the Google account that receives your PayPal e-mails. Press New project, delete the code that is there, paste the script, press Save.
- In the bar at the top pick the function setup and press Run. Google asks for permission: choose your account, press Advanced, then Go to … (unsafe), then Allow. (It says "unsafe" only because you made the script yourself and never published it.)
- Come back here and press Refresh: "last contact" shows when the script first spoke to your site. From then on it checks by itself every minute.
What you are allowing: Google only offers one permission for reading mail from a script, "all of the mail in that Gmail". The script only looks for new e-mails from paypal.com, asks Gmail whether they really came from PayPal (a fake cannot pass that), and sends their text to your site. You can take the permission away any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions. If you would rather not give it to your main Gmail: make a free second Gmail, set your main one to forward only PayPal's e-mails to it (Gmail → Settings → Forwarding and POP/IMAP → add a filter for "from paypal.com"), and put the script in the second one.
Keep the script private: it contains the key that lets it talk to your site. If it ever leaks, press "Make a new key" and paste the new script.
Test an e-mail
Paste one of the e-mails PayPal sent you for a payment, to see what the site would read from it. Nothing is saved or unlocked.

Free-access codes
Make codes and give them to people. Pick how long a code gives access: a day, a week (a weekly trial), any number of days, or lifetime. Each code works once, for one account only: the person signs in (or types it before signing in), and gets free access for as long as the code says. Once it is used, nobody else can use it. You can delete a code (a person who already used it keeps their access), or press "Take access back" next to a used code to stop that person's free access. Type who it is for if you want, so you remember (making several at once gives them all the same name; you can change a name in the list).
People
Everyone who signed in. You can give or take away access (to refund someone, for example) or delete them.
Backup
Updating the site never changes who has paid: that lives in Cloudflare's storage, not in the site files. This backup is insurance for the day you move to a new Cloudflare project or the storage gets lost. It holds your people (and whether they have access) and your codes. Restoring only adds: it never removes anyone or takes access away. It does not contain any passwords, keys or chats.
